Home Schooling Program

Springbrook offers equestrian programs geared specifically towards the home schooling community. There are two classes offered: Horsemanship and Riding lessons

Horsemanship

The horsemanship program covers a broad range of horsemanship skills such as: safety, arena etiquette, anatomy, proper use and care of tack, just to mention a few topics. As student’s progress through the program, educational activities are scheduled that cover all aspects of the horse, from breeds and markings to health and nutrition, including demonstrations with farriers (blacksmiths) and veterinarians.

Riding Lessons

Springbrook offers riding lessons for students K - 12. An evaluation lesson may be required for riders under 7 years of age. It is also recommend that riders with no previous riding experience take one private lesson before the semester starts. The cost of evaluation and private lessons are not covered by school districts. Long pants, a hard soled boot and helmets are required. Horsemanship must be taken in conjunction with riding lessons to participate in the riding program.

Classes meet weekly for two hours. Time may vary slightly depending on the number of students in the class. Please email us at office@springbrookec.com for registration applications.

Springbrook Equestrian Center is a year-round equestrian facility with a heated barn and indoor arena for winter riding. Family members can enjoy our large observation room equipped with wireless internet access where non-participating siblings can continue their studies.

Please give us a call so we can set up a time for you to observe lessons, tour the facility and answer any of your questions. Also, please let us know if you would like to contact any of our home school families that have been or are participating in our program.

Summer Riding Camps

Sprinbrook offers a riding camp throughout the summer months. Camp will prove to be challenging and enjoyable to all riders, from those with little or no previous experience to those who have been riding for years.
